What is Aqua Fitness?

Aqua Fitness is a workout in water designed to increase cardiovascular conditioning, improve muscle tone and aid in weight loss.  With minimal impact on joints, this form of exercise is  perfect for all ages and swimming  abilities.  The support the water gives and the resistance it provides makes Aqua Fitness ideal for sport and injury recovery, expectant mothers and anybody who may be starting back into some physical activity.

You control the intensity of your workout and we provide the motivation!

All classes are drop in/casual so no need to book. Session fees are $6:30 per class.

Why Workout in Water?

  • Water adds 12-14 percent more resistance than land, so every move Water Safetyyou make in water  improves strength and increases metabolism (the rate you burn calories, even during  resting).
  • Water provides multi directional resistance which means your muscle pairs work in balance during the same movement.
  • Water cushions your body and allows you to perform movements that would be difficult on land.
  • Water regulates your temperature and enables your heart rate to stay low while you work at intensity.

Aqua Burn (Deep) Intensity rating 5/5

Start your day off with this high intensity class that will certainly get the heart pumping and your muscles toned! You can use a buoyancy belt or otherwise choose not to for that extra burn!

Aqua Boost (Deep) intensity rating 3.5/5

A no to low impact workout designed to cater for all fitness levels and abilities with the emphasis on fun! Suitable for injury prevention and recovery.  Incorporates  the use of all equipment.

Aqua Blast (Deep) intensity rating 4/5

Blast into your evening with this high intensity class using a buoyancy belt and other aquatic resistance equipment, guaranteed to have you firing on all cylinders.

Aqua force (Shallow) intensity rating 4.5/5

Finish your day with this dynamic full body class that targets the cardiovascular system and all muscle groups with a combination of aerobic and toning exercises.

Aqua move (Shallow) intensity rating 3/5

A more gentle approach to working out, designed to cater for different fitness levels and abilities. This is a shallow class, so vigorous movement in the water is where you will see the benefits!

Private Aqua sessions

We also hold private one off sessions for sports groups, health groups and schools. We can take you through one of our standard Aqua Fitness sessions or adapt one to suit your group.

If you are interested in any private sessions, please email Renee at reneeb@napieraquatic.co.nz
